Job Description

The company is seeking a Research Engineer position as a software engineer to work with data scientists on research and development. The company's services are products designed to help clients achieve greater marketing results. By making full use of data science, the advertising effectiveness of each media is estimated based on past placements. Users can better plan their marketing strategies by being presented with optimal advertising budget allocations determined based on advertising effectiveness. A key feature is the implementation of the Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) methodology, which makes full use of advanced statistical techniques. This allows quantitative analysis of even offline advertising, such as TV commercials, integrated with online advertising. The company also offers a variety of marketing-related products, such as products that use mathematical optimization to determine the amount of advertisements to be placed in each medium, and products that create better commercial creatives based on brainwave activity during viewing. Data science plays an important role in all of the company's products. The company's research engineers are tasked with quickly validating candidate methods for solving various data science problems by experimenting with a wide range of conditions. The methods to be validated are primarily created by the data scientist, but sometimes they are proposed by collaborative partners. To further enhance the value of its products through the power of data science, the company is looking for a research engineer with a strong background in mathematical statistics and computer science. 【Responsibilities】 ・Implement the papers surveyed by the data scientist and the validated algorithms on a reference environment (benchmark environment) to evaluate and verify whether they are capable of solving business and client issues. ・Work with data scientists to improve algorithms and develop solutions to solve business and client issues ・Work with internal software engineers to implement the developed methodology as a prototype for use in a Proof of Concept (PoC) 【Attraction/Feature】 ・Decision-making and business execution based on the "Monozukuri Vision". Required skills

【Required】 ・Experience in programming with Julia, Python, C++, etc. and experience with Docker ・Experience in team development using version control software such as Git ・Able to read mathematical statistics and machine learning papers and conduct replicated experiments on your own ・Programming skills that take into account reduction of computational complexity, speed-up, parallelization, etc. ・Interest in product development 【Preferred】 ・Experience working in the marketing research field ・Master's degree or higher and a basic understanding of linear algebra, analysis, statistics, and probability theory ・Experience developing machine learning and statistical libraries ・Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Japanese
