Job Description: ■About the Department and Services Rakuten Group offers more than 70 services and has developed a unique "Rakuten Ecosystem" (economic zone). The mission of the company's Cloud Services Department (CLSD) is to "provide high quality services to application teams" to support the growth of Rakuten Group. The mission of Application Platform Group is to realize the following to support each business of Rakuten. ・Construction, stable operation, improvement and automation of k8s platform, service mesh, cicd tool, and container registry for Rakuten's cloud services. ・Stable operation of existing services (legacy k8s platform, mesos/marathon platform, cloud foundry) ■Recruitment Background The company is looking for new team members to expand new features (container native load balancer, IPv6 support, IPv4 /IPv6 dual stack, network visualization, knative, serverless, gpu, vm on k8s etc.), we are looking for new team members. Please apply now if you can find a new perspective on a problem and work together to solve it! ■Responsibilities Design and implementation of Service Mesh (Istio) on private cloud and network inside and outside k8s Cluster (CNI, Container Native Load Balancer, IPv4/IPv6 support, Multi cluster support, etc) Migration consultancy from legacy systems to container environment Provide standardized and self-service platform for multi-tenancy Implementation of self-healing environment Automation of monitoring systems Implementation of security requirements for container technology Participation in the OOS community as a committer ■Working Environment Manager１ Vice　Manager　２ Member 10 - Tokyo : 10+ members (Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Russian, Mexican, Brazilian, Filipino) - India : 10+ members They also work with a team in India. The team consists of global members with diverse experience and skills from various countries and regions. The members working in Japan are a group of 3 new graduates and 10 mid-career workers. Our team is made up of members from a variety of backgrounds. - Development Language: Go, Python, Groovy, Shell Script - Infrastructure: Private Cloud (Baremetal, VM, Container) - Provisioning/Operation: Ansible, multiple inhouse tools written in Go and operator pattern (e.g. redhat operator framework), jenkins, tekton - Monitoring: prometheus, cortex, grafana, kibana, Datadog, PagerDuty - CI/CD: Jenkins / tekton - Knowledge Tool : Confluence - Project Management : JIRA - Communication Tool : Slack, MS Teams, Viber - Process framework : scrum (2 weeks sprint)

Required Skills: ■Required Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or software development Experience with agile development and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) Experience with Istio or other service mesh operations Basic knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Basic knowledge of networking such as TCP/UDP, HTTP, BGP, etc. Experience in Linux operation Experience with git ■Preferred Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field CKA, CKAD certification Debugging skills for applications built in Go / Python / Java / NodeJS / Lua / PHP, etc. Experience implementing custom applications (Go / Python / NodeJS / etc.) Experience with release automation of large systems Experience with multiple monitoring tools (Prometheus, Elastic Search, New Relic, Datadog, Nagios, etc.) Experience as a contributor to OSS Experience with agile development and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) Experience and basic knowledge of building common middleware (Tomcat / Apache / Nginx / KVS / MySQL, etc.) Experience in defining requirements and writing upstream design documents Experience developing applications in medium or large scale systems Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines
