Job Description: ◆◆◆ About the Company's Recent Initiative ◆◆◆ On September 5, 2024, the company announced a new project in collaboration with international institutions to build a cross-border payment infrastructure. By utilizing stablecoins—digital currencies pegged to legal tender—the company aims to enable fast, low-cost, and convenient international remittances. Since its founding in 2018, the company has pursued R&D in deep tech and business opportunities with the mission of creating a "Japan-born, global deep tech infrastructure" that becomes the industry de facto standard. The company aspires to become a decacorn (a startup with a valuation of over USD 10 billion). Achieving this goal requires success in the global deep tech space. The aforementioned cross-border payment infrastructure marks a major first step toward this vision. With Japan leading in legal and regulatory development, the company currently holds a competitive advantage. However, as the market is vast, global competition is expected to intensify. In this environment, the company is at the forefront of building a "Japan-born global deep tech infrastructure", and is rapidly expanding its engineering team to scale development and stay ahead in this high-stakes race. ◆◆◆ Why the Company Can Achieve This ◆◆◆ The company has already begun developing a cross-border payment infrastructure using stablecoins, in collaboration with international institutions that connect financial organizations around the world. In June 2023, Japan became the first developed country to implement legislation regulating blockchain-based stablecoins. This legal clarity positions Japan—and by extension, the company—as a global leader in regulatory frameworks, which is crucial for large enterprises adopting stablecoins. The company’s interoperability technology for cross-chain communication, developed through ongoing R&D, is world-leading and forms the technological backbone of its solutions. ◆◆◆ Job Satisfaction of This Position ◆◆◆ To drive a major new business initiative, the lead SRE engineer is expected to take on a leadership role in building both a new system and the ideal environment for its development. Required Skills: ■Required ・Experience in designing and building systems based on cloud architecture best practices ・Experience with initiatives for continuous development and stable system operation, such as CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization ・Experience making technical decisions with long-term flexibility and maintainability in mind, including anticipated future system changes ・Experience implementing with statically typed languages (e.g., Go, C/C++, Java, Rust, Scala) while leveraging the unique characteristics of each language ・Ability to hypothesize and isolate the root cause of issues in unfamiliar systems ・A willingness to build systems that meet high security requirements ・Interest in and ongoing curiosity about technologies that make up blockchain systems ■Preferred ・SRE-level experience in environments with high security requirements, such as financial institutions or FinTech companies ・Work experience related to distributed systems ・Experience promoting technical advocacy or recruitment activities in the engineering domain ・Operational experience with large-scale applications or high-traffic services ・Experience publishing or contributing to open-source software (OSS) ・Development experience related to blockchain ■Ideal Applicants ・Able to assess the current state and define the ideal future architecture, building robust systems accordingly ・Able to evaluate the balance between business, organization, and technology, and articulate what should be done from a technical perspective ・Able to collaborate with engineers and tech leads across the company to foster a strong development culture ・Proactively enhance technical skills and lead the creation of an optimal development environment and organization to build high-quality systems ・From the perspective of SRE, able to drive company-wide improvements by addressing security, cost, and performance considerations
