Job Description: ◆◆◆ About the Company's Recent Initiative ◆◆◆ On September 5, 2024, the company announced a new project in collaboration with international institutions to build a cross-border payment infrastructure. By utilizing stablecoins—digital currencies pegged to legal tender—the company aims to enable fast, low-cost, and convenient international remittances. Since its founding in 2018, the company has pursued R&D in deep tech and business opportunities with the mission of creating a "Japan-born, global deep tech infrastructure" that becomes the industry de facto standard. The company aspires to become a decacorn (a startup with a valuation of over USD 10 billion). Achieving this goal requires success in the global deep tech space. The aforementioned cross-border payment infrastructure marks a major first step toward this vision. With Japan leading in legal and regulatory development, the company currently holds a competitive advantage. However, as the market is vast, global competition is expected to intensify. In this environment, the company is at the forefront of building a "Japan-born global deep tech infrastructure", and is rapidly expanding its engineering team to scale development and stay ahead in this high-stakes race. ◆◆◆ Why the Company Can Achieve This ◆◆◆ The company has already begun developing a cross-border payment infrastructure using stablecoins, in collaboration with international institutions that connect financial organizations around the world. In June 2023, Japan became the first developed country to implement legislation regulating blockchain-based stablecoins. This legal clarity positions Japan—and by extension, the company—as a global leader in regulatory frameworks, which is crucial for large enterprises adopting stablecoins. The company’s interoperability technology for cross-chain communication, developed through ongoing R&D, is world-leading and forms the technological backbone of its solutions. ◆◆◆ Job Satisfaction of This Position ◆◆◆ As the Lead Backend Engineer, you will be at the forefront of launching an entirely new system to drive a major new business initiative. To build this system, an ideal engineering environment must be established—this requires someone to lead and shape the team from the ground up. You’ll play a key role in defining the development processes, team culture, and operational frameworks that enable engineers to perform at their highest efficiency. This role offers both the excitement and challenges of forming a brand-new team from scratch. From a technical perspective, in addition to conventional web application development, you'll also be responsible for building and maintaining applications that run on blockchain platforms. Required Skills: ■Required ・Experience implementing development infrastructure at the launch of a new project, including defining development rules, establishing review processes, and creating repository strategies ・Experience working with product managers to identify necessary components for system development and documenting them in design documents (e.g., Design Docs) ・Experience sharing technical knowledge through pair programming, mob programming, and code walkthroughs ・Experience making rational technical decisions based on a balance of business, organizational, and technical factors ・Experience designing environments that ensure internal quality and support sustainable system operations from a mid- to long-term perspective ・Experience implementing code in statically typed languages (e.g., Go, C/C++, Java, Rust, Scala), with an understanding of language-specific characteristics ・Foundational knowledge in algorithms, data structures, networking, security, and design patterns ■Preferred ・Experience in product development in the FinTech space ・Experience in driving technical PR/recruitment activities in the engineering space ・Able to implement based on English literature ・Development experience related to blockchain ■Ideal Applicants ・Able to explain how it should be from a technology standpoint while determining the balance between business, organization, and technology ・Able to create a development team culture by working with engineers and tech leads across the company ・Proactively work to improve technical skills to create a good system and take the initiative to create a development environment and development organization to create a good system ・Experience in blockchain related development
